Nvidia’s latest Game Ready driver brings day-one optimisations for Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West is making its grand debut on PC later this week. This new version of the game will support PC-exclusive technologies like Nvidia's DLSS 3. If you are planning on picking the game up, then you can now update your graphics drivers beforehand, as a new Game Ready driver has now dropped.

GeForce graphics card users can now update to the 551.86 driver, which brings day-one optimisations for Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition, which lands on PC on the 21st of March, complete with ray-tracing, DLSS 3, Nvidia Reflex and DLAA. With DLSS switched on, Nvidia says RTX 4080 users will be able to play the game at 4K/60FPS with Very High settings. Meanwhile, the RTX 3070 should be able to run the game at 1440p/60FPS with High settings.

This new Game Ready driver also brings support for DLSS 3.5 in Portal RTX, enabling ray-reconstruction for better ray-traced visuals while using DLSS upscaling.

If you are the type of person that likes to use Nvidia's recommended graphics settings for games to save time, then you'll also be pleased to know that two new games now have ‘optimal settings' listed, including Helldivers 2 and Three Kingdoms: Zhao Yun.

The new driver is available to download directly through the Nvidia App.
