We've known about Ubisoft's plans for Assassin's Creed Infinity for years already. The new game is set to be the hub for future single-player campaigns in the Assassin's Creed universe, making everything accessible in one place, with a hub where players can interact. We've yet to see any of this in action, but now we have some new details on exactly how the hub system will work.
After seeing demo footage recently, Insider Gaming reports that the Infinity hub will be the new area where the ‘modern day' story of the franchise takes place, offering players with quick access to multiple different games. Getting into one of the campaigns takes mere seconds and players will be able to pick up exactly where they left off, rather than having to boot the games up individually. Presumably, this will also include cross-save functionality, so users can easily bring their progress across consoles and PC.
Naturally, there will be a microtransaction store, known currently as ‘The Exchange', which will sell in-game cosmetics for the different Assassin's Creed campaigns and new protagonists. You'll also have access to ‘Projects', which are essentially battle passes, which will allow players to earn cosmetic rewards by completing challenges.
There are currently three Assassin's Creed projects in the works to join Infinity, including Assassin's Creed: Red, Hexe and Invictus. Assassin's Creed Red is expected to be the first of the bunch to release.
With Assassin's Creed Infinity as the hub, Ubisoft hopes to add a new mainline campaign to the game every two years, with smaller content updates filling the gaps in-between, not too dissimilar from Ubisoft's more recent Assassin's Creed RPGs, each of which had a ton of free content updates, alongside paid DLCs.

KitGuru Says: We should get an official look at Assassin's Creed Infinity later this year, as Assassin's Creed: Red is supposed to come out in 2024. Next year, Invictus will offer a new multiplayer mode, and then in 2026, the game currently codenamed ‘Hexe' will arrive.
