We've seen G.SKILL memory used to break plenty of overclocking records over the years and that trend isn't slowing down in 2024. This week, G.Skill announced that South Korean overclocker, SAFEDISK, has set a new SuperPi-32M world record using Trident Z5 DDR5 memory.
In collaboration with Asus ROG, Intel and G.Skill, the extreme overclocker known as SAFEDISK has set a new SuperPi-32M overclocking world record, completing the benchmark in under 3 minutes. The system that achieved this record was equipped with G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 memory, an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore motherboard and an Intel Core i9-1400KF.
The memory was overclocked to an impressive DDR5-9052 with 32-48-45-36 timings with Liquid Nitrogen used for cooling, allowing the CPU to reach as low as -188°C and the memory as low as -60°C.
While these memory speeds are currently only achievable with extreme cooling methods, DDR5 memory speeds are still improving, with standard kits available with speeds of up to 8000MHz.
