Rainbow Six Siege leaks its new operators, Lion and Finka, before weekend reveal

The Rainbow Six: Siege Invitational finals are this weekend and with it comes the reveal of Operation Chimera in full. In usual fashion, however, the new operators Lion and Finka have been leaked, complete with a reveal video.

Finka, A.K.A. Dr. Lera Melnikova is a Spetznaz-based attacker that sports a distinct scar across her face. Caused by a training exercise gone wrong alongside Kapkan, this is Finka’s namesake, which Ubisoft says means “knife.” Her primary loadout gives players the choice between the Spear .308, SASG-12, and 6P41, while her secondary houses the PMM pistol and GSH-18. Finka also holds either a breaching charge or a set of stun grenades.

According to her bio page, Finka “delivers a nanobot shot to each operator before an operation. When she activates her signal … the operators receive a short boost of health to get them back on their feet, to give them an extra push, and to steady their aim.” So, she’s sounding a little like base game operator Doc, in some aspects. Lastly, she’s a medium speed/armour operator, meaning two-speed, two-armour.

Olivier Flament, known as Lion by Team Rainbow, is a part of the GIGN counter-terrorist unit. His name comes from what Sudan residents nicknamed him during his treatment of the Yellow Fever outbreak, simply because his “loud voice scared a frightened mob back.”

Similar to Finka, Lion is also an attacker, with his loadout only offers one new thing to the table. The V308 is an assault rifle variant of Mira’s Vector, complete with a drum magazine. It will have more damage but significantly less fire rate than its submachine gun cousin. Otherwise, players can choose between the 417 Marksman Rifle (also seen on Twitch) or the SG-CQB shotgun. Secondary wise, he has the P9 Pistol or the LFP586. His situational gadgets include a choice between a claymore and a set of stun grenades.

He is also a medium operator at two-speed, two-armour and his main gadget is his EE-One-D drone. It isn’t clear as to what his drone will do at this time, however. His character design as seen in the trailer shows him with two pistols, one holstered on his leg and another on his chest. This has prompted belief that he will pull one out in a downed-but-not-out (DBNO) state, similar to Zofia’s secondary ability to revive herself to 1HP once per round.

We won’t know for certain until the reveal comes during this weekend’s Invitational final, however. Those that do tune in on Twitch and link their account will receive a set of charms for the amount that they watch. The requirements are posted below.

  • Copper [watch the 45th minute of the stream on February 16]
  • Bronze [watch the 45th minute of the stream on February 17]
  • Silver [watch the 45th minute of the stream on February 18]
  • Gold [watch a total of 4 hours between February 16th at 10AM EST to February 18th at 8PM EST]
  • Platinum [watch a total of 8 hours between February 16th at 10AM EST to February 18th at 8PM EST]
  • Diamond [watch a total of 12 hours between February 16th at 10AM EST to February 18th at 8PM EST]

KitGuru Says: I am excited to see how these operators will change the meta and how they will fit into the Outbreak event simultaneously. I do wish that their loadouts would offer a little more to the game than things we have already seen, however. What do you want to see from the new operators?
