Rocket League helps settle who is better between Keaton and Bale by adding new Batmobiles

Rocket League fans were treated to their first bout of DC Comics licenced content around February 2016 in support of Batman v Superman. It seems that Batfleck has some competition, however, as players will be able to argue the point that either Michael Keaton or Christian Bale is better by representing their respective Batmobiles in-game.

Psyonix's DC Super Heroes pack introduces the Tumbler from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, driven by Christian Bale and Tim Burton’s unique ’89 finned Batmobile back when Michael Keaton donned the cowl.

The ’89 version of the Batmobile has had the most presence of any design, being carried over to the ‘dark deco’ cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series, notable for cementing Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as the definitive voices of Batman and The Joker respectively. A similar, yet updated design is also seen moving into Rocksteady’s Arkham Asylum, before Arkham Knight gave us a more Tumbler-like take on the iconic vehicle.

Fans of other DC Comics’ property aren’t missing out either, as key characters are being treated to decals, wheels and banners on already established Rocket League vehicles. Some items may seem familiar as a handful have previously appeared in the Collector’s Edition, however the majority of content is exclusive to the DC Super Heroes pack:

  • Aquaman—Breakout Decal and Player Banner.
  • Batman—Paladin Decal and Player Banner.
  • Cyborg—Roadhog Decal and Player Banner.
  • DC—Player Banner.
  • Flash—Wheels, Venom Decal, Player Banner, and Speed Force Boost.
  • Green Arrow—Hotshot Decal and Player Banner.
  • Green Lantern—Merc Decal and Player Banner.
  • Superman—Octane Decal and Player Banner.
  • Wonder Woman—Wheels, X-Devil Decal, and Player Banner.

This is due out on March 5th at $3.99 or your region equivalent.

KitGuru Says: While I quite liked the design of the Batmobile in Batman v Superman, I much prefer the classic ’89 version. Now all we need to see is a good old ’66 version and things will feel a lot more complete.
