Sony is cutting the price of PlayStation VR

Sony's PlayStation VR headset has been on the market for around 18 months now, but during that time, plenty has changed. We've seen two triple A publishers (Bethesda and Ubisoft) getting involved with game releases, and we've seen some major price cuts for the Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE. With that in mind, Sony is looking to get more competitive this year, cutting the PlayStation VR's price down.

Since launch, the PlayStation VR has carried an MSRP of $399 in the US and £349.99 in the UK. From the 29th of March onwards, the headset will cost $299 in the US and £259.99 in the UK.

To go along with the new permanent price cut, Sony has also announced that Wipe-out Omega's free PSVR update is rolling out today. Aside from that, the PS4 still has Skyrim VR exclusively until the 3rd of April.

KitGuru Says: The price of getting in to virtual reality is continuing to lower this year, which is good to see. Are any of you thinking of picking up a VR headset this year?
