It looks like Blizzard is teasing Diablo 3 for the Nintendo Switch

It looks like Blizzard might be preparing to jump back into a Nintendo platform for the first time in almost two decades. Blizzard's last Nintendo game was Starcraft on the N64, after that, the publisher's console efforts took a dive until 2012, when Diablo 3 came to the Xbox One and PS4. Now, it looks like the Nintendo Switch may also get a version of the game.

An official announcement has yet to be made, but Blizzard did post a short teaser video to Twitter last night, showing a small Diablo light switching on and off. This is something that could be easily overlooked, but it seems to be a nice, subtle tease at Diablo on Nintendo's new portable console.

Blizzard hasn't released a game on a Nintendo console since the year 2000, when StarCraft was ported to the N64. Since then, Jeff Kaplan has discussed the possibility of Overwatch on the Switch, but it looks like Diablo III will be the first game to get there.

Diablo III on consoles is a particularly interesting concept. The game translated surprisingly well over to gamepads and the addition of a dodge roll function adds something extra to gameplay over the PC version. Diablo III also received some new content last year, with the addition of the Necromancer class. If the game ends up coming to the Switch this year, it will likely include all previously released content, including the Necromancer and Reaper of Souls expansion pack.

KitGuru Says: Diablo III is one of my favorite games, so the idea of being able to play it on the Switch is very exciting. However, I do worry about performance, as the game can have a lot of enemies on screen at once, especially at higher difficulty levels. Do you guys thing that Diablo III would be a good fit for the Nintendo Switch?
