You can grab Spec Ops: The Line for free on PC for a limited time

If the most recent game releases just aren't doing it for you, or perhaps you need another title to fill out your Steam list, then you'll be pleased to know that Spec Ops: The Line is currently being given away for free. For the next 28 hours (as of publishing), you can grab a free copy of this game from the Humble Store, which you can then redeem on Steam.

For those who don't know, Spec Ops: The Line released all the way back in 2012. At the time, it didn't necessarily get the attention it deserved as from the outside, it just looks like another military shooter. On a mechanical level, it is a fairly standard shooter, though bullet damage is more realistic compared to something like Call of Duty.

Where Spec Ops: The Line really shines is its story mode. It is a game that very much focusses on the horrors of war, and the mistakes, consequences and damage that can be caused throughout.

It's the sort of game you can play through in an afternoon, but it is worth experiencing, particularly while its free. You can grab a Steam key for Spec Ops: The Line from the Humble Store, HERE.

KitGuru Says: I played through Spec Ops: The Line a few years back and still remember it well. It's not the sort of game that everyone will enjoy, but it's certainly worth trying out now that you can grab it for free.
