Corsair launches Carbide 275R promising minimalist design with maximum features

Despite being a premium brand with costs that often reflects as such, Corsair hasn’t forgotten about its mid-range fans by adding a new chassis to its Carbide series. Introducing its new Carbide 275R case, Corsair claims it packs “high-end features you need, and nothing you don't,” all for £75.

Shaving away a lot of the excess features often seen on higher-end cases has allowed the Corsair Carbide 275R to keep things small and subtle while retaining enough space for an ATX motherboard, up to a 360mm liquid cooler at the front or 240mm liquid cooler on the roof.

The Carbide 275R features room for two 3.5-inch hard drives within hidden trays and another four 2.5-inch SSD mounts on the rear of the motherboard. Surprisingly, it also manages to keep enough room for a total of six 120mm fans for the best possible air cooling solutions given its space limitations, filling two of these slots with two pre-installed CORSAIR SP120 fans.

Corsair’s priority is a sleek design, giving access to showcase internals via a tempered glass or an edge-to-edge acrylic side panel, with the latter shifting costs slightly lower. Covering the power supply unit is crucial to keep things neat and tidy, with the shroud reflecting the colour of the case. Users have a choice between black or matte white with a black frame, each emblazoned with the Corsair logo at the base of the front panel.

The Corsair Carbide 275R is already available from the official website as well as specific third-party vendors, with the tempered glass version sitting at £75 and the acrylic version whittling it down to £65 at the expense of the cheaper material and lack of dust filters.

KitGuru Says: While a little pricier than other Carbide entries, Corsair has offered some decent features not often seen in other models. The white version of the Carbide 275R will no doubt divide users with its black accent along the frame of the side panel, but both entries do look quite smart. What do you think of Corsair’s new case? Are you due for an upgrade soon?
