Biostar launches two new Intel B360 chipset motherboards a day early

While the official launch isn't due to take place until tomorrow, the folks at Biostar have let the cat out of the bag early. Today, Biostar announced its new slate of motherboards, based on Intel's soon to be announced B360 chipset for Coffee Lake processors.

Following on from the Biostar Z370 Racing series of motherboards, these new B360 boards offer options for those on a tighter budget, but still wanting to upgrade to Coffee Lake. The Racing B360GT5S is an ATX motherboard with support for dual-channel DDR4 up to 2666MHz. It comes with three PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots and three PCI-E 3.0 x1 slots, so there is plenty of room for multiple GPUs or expansion cards. It also packs two M.2 32Gb/s slots with dedicated cooling.

On the rear, you get a legacy PS/2 connector, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. The usual audio connections appear, you also get HDMI 1.4, DVI-D and D-sub connectors for those using onboard graphics.

The Racing B360GT3S is micro-ATX instead, but offers many of the same features. It supports the same DDR4 memory spec, the same M.2 SSD slots and the same rear I/O. The key difference for the mATX board is the power phase design. The B360GT5S has an 11-phase power design, while the B360GT3S has 7-phase power delivery.

The mATX board also has fewer PCI-E connectors, with two x16 slots and and one x1 slot.

The Biostar Racing B360GT5S will have an MSRP of $109.90 at launch, while the B360GT3S will have an MSRP of $94.90.
