AOC launches new AGON gaming monitor with HDR 400 and FreeSync 2

AOC has established itself as a solid contender in the market for gaming monitors, having launched a range of AGON and G90 series of displays earlier this year. The AGON AG322QC4 is AOC’s latest offering, boasting a variety of features including VESA DisplayHDR 400 and AMD FreeSync 2.

The 31.5-inch curved display sports Quad HD (2560×1440 px) resolution, forgoing the ultrawide format in favour of a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. The 144Hz refresh rate will please most users, along with an “aggressive” 1800R curvature and three frameless sides, enabling users to pair up multiple monitors with minimal obstruction.

Its VA panel helps set it apart from the debatably lower end TN variety, offering better colour reproduction, higher maximum brightness, and better viewing angles, but this comes at the sacrifice of response time, which sits at 4ms.

The inclusion of Radeon FreeSync 2, a much improved successor to AMD’s FreeSync technology, brings the AGON series up to date, providing higher and more consistent refresh rates to avoid frames stuttering when it counts the most.

VESA DisplayHDR 400 is another important addition, focusing on image quality through a higher color gamut and greater depth, high peak brightness and truer black levels. Another feature tucked away in the AGON AG322QC4 is Low Framerate Compensation (LFC), helping to lower the latency often found in standard HDR monitors.

AOC’s Ergo Base is built with cable management in mind, allowing users to adjust height up to 11cm, with a 30~30° swivel, and -5.5 to 29° tilt. The monitor is also endowed with LED lights that can be customised between red, green or blue, with three levels of intensity.

As for other features, the AG322QC4 comes with a retractable headphone holder on the right hand side. Two 5W speakers are included to offer built-in stereo sound. And lastly, connectivity includes a VGA port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort 1.2s and two USB 3.0 ports.

The company has announced that it will be launching the AOC AGON AG322QC4 in June for £529/$599/€599.
