Following on from the Amazon leak earlier this morning, Activision has officially announced Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. The previously leaked release date is now official, bringing the game out just in time for Spyro's 20th anniversary. There is also a trailer and screenshots to show off gameplay.
While the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy was PS4 exclusive for one year, Spyro will be releasing on both Xbox One and PS4 at the same time. Unfortunately, there's no mention of a Switch or PC version just yet, but hopefully we'll hear more about that later on. The game launches on the 21st of September worldwide, the debut trailer can be seen below:
The developers have reworked the visuals from the ground up, with new cinematics and better controls also in place. The Reignited Trilogy will also include a ‘reimagining' of the original soundtrack for the first three games, which was composed by Stewart Copeland. You can see screenshots from the game below:

While Insomniac Games developed the original Spyro trilogy, they are currently busy with Spider-Man. So, Toys for Bob, the studio behind Skylanders, took this remaster under their wing, which seems to stay very faithful to the original in style and gameplay.
KitGuru Says: Spyro is officially coming back this year, putting an end to a consistent cycle of rumors and leaks. Will any of you be picking this up in September? It's going to be a very busy month, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Spider-Man and now this all coming out in the span of a few weeks.
