Call of Juarez: Gunslinger returns to Steam as publishing rights revert to Techland

It has been a while since Call of Juarez was last in the spotlight, but the game resurfaced in news recently after one of the best games in the series, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, was removed from Steam. It turns out that Ubisoft's publishing rights for the series had elapsed. The good news is, rights to the franchise have now reverted to Techland, who have brought the game back.

The Call of Juarez series is often overlooked. The western style shooters have been around for years, but the franchise stumbled with a couple of poorly received entries. It managed to rebound in 2013 with Gunslinger, but since then no further games have been made.

Now that publishing rights have reverted back to Techland, titles like Call of Juarez: Gunslinger will be able to remain on Steam. Beyond that, this resurgence of interest could prompt a return of the franchise, but that's just speculation on my part.

KitGuru Says: Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was one of the first games I played when I switched back to PC gaming after dedicating many years to the Xbox 360. Have any of you played one of the Call of Juarez games? Would you like to see the series return in the future?
