Corsair isn’t shy about revamping its Dominator memory kits, previously having released a variety of colours, including an ASUS ROG-branded set back in 2016. Its latest Dominator Platinum Contrast set is a special numbered edition of DDR4 memory that opts for a monochrome look and dual LEDs.
Each module in the Dominator Platinum Special Edition Contrast set comes at 3466MHz, with a choice between two 32GB kits. One delivers two 16GB sticks for dual-channel at a price of £400/ €435/$440. The other is a quad-channel kit distributed across four 8GB sticks, costing users £435/ €475/$480.
Corsair boasts that each module is built with 10-Layer PCB and patented DHX cooling technology, allowing for the Dominator Platinum Special Edition Contrast kits to overclock just as well as its predecessors.

Each module is numbered for exclusivity, inverting Corsair’s original colour palette in favour of a white body and matte black heatsink. Surprisingly, Corsair goes against the grain and sticks to white LEDs instead of RGB, falling in line with the monochrome design of the special edition RAM.
Initially, the Dominator Platinum Special Edition Contrast modules are currently available exclusively from Corsair’s website in the US, UK and Germany. There is a possibility that it will extend to third-party vendors in the future but there is no estimated date as to when that will be.

KitGuru Says: Personally, as gimmicky as RGB can be to some, I quite like being able to customise my system at my own leisure. The new Corsair Dominator set certainly looks sleek, however, if not a little pricey. Then again, wouldn’t it be worth it to own something so exclusive? Do you need an upgrade?
