Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is heading to the Nintendo Switch this year

This has been a blockbuster year for Monster Hunter in the west, and it looks like Capcom is going to continue to capitalise on that in 2018. Today, it was announced that Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

This technically isn't a brand new game, as it previously released as ‘Monster Hunter XX' in Japan last year. However, it is new to the west, and will have some upgrades over the original Monster Hunter Generations, which launched on the 3DS in 2016.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will include a selection of new, returning and redesigned monsters to hunt down. There will be 129 monsters in the game at launch, including different variants that will be harder to take down.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will launch for the Nintendo Switch on the 28th of August. Monster Hunter World should also be landing on the PC in a similar time frame.

KitGuru Says: I used to play Monster Hunter on the PSP back in the day, and I've sunk a few hours into World so far. Generations appears to be less story-driven and more of a classic Monster Hunter style game, which makes perfect sense for a system you can take on the go. Will any of you be picking this up for the Switch? Or would you rather play World when it comes to PC?
