Previously PlayStation-published ‘Predator: Hunting Grounds’ is coming to Xbox and PS5

Back in 2020, Sony published Predator: Hunting Grounds: An asymmetrical multiplayer game, similar to the likes of Friday The 13th and Dead by Daylight, in which a group of elite operatives must take down the ever-elusive predator – and vice versa. Failing to set the world on fire at the time, Predator: Hunting Grounds is getting a surprising second chance at life.

Making the surprise announcement via a press release, the game’s developers – IllFonic – revealed that they have now acquired publishing rights for the game. As mentioned, Predator: Hunting Grounds was originally published by PlayStation, and as such was limited to the PS4 and PC. With the devs now self-publishing the game themselves, this current-gen upgrade/remaster is coming to Xbox as well as PS5 and PC.

Ahead of the remaster’s release in late 2024, Predator: Hunting Grounds on PS4 and PC will be getting a pretty major patch, focusing on “player movement, Fireteam weapon rework and balance, Predator weapon balance, and UX/playability improvements.”

That said, the big update is said to be coming sometime in late 2024, when Predator: Hunting Grounds will get a bespoke PS5 version alongside an Xbox release for the first time. The new release will also include post-launch support, with the game said to be getting new Predators by the end of the year, with even more being added in Spring of 2025.

Predator: Hunting Grounds received a lukewarm reception upon its initial launch. That said, with IllFonic working on a whole host of core gameplay improvements, Predator: Hunting Grounds could find greater success its second time round.
