Alphacool launches new Eisblock GPX Acetal and RGB-powered Plexi waterblocks

Ahead of this year’s Computex, Alphacool has unveiled its brand new RGB watercooling block for graphics cards. The Eisblock GPX Plexi and GPX Acetal sport full covers on their rear, alongside large windows to better display the cooler’s customisable lighting and coolant.

Both the Eisblock GPX Plexi and the Eisblock GPX Acetal house the same internals, making one no way inferior to the other. The fundamental difference between the two is the Plexi incorporating a sizeable window to its front, while the Acetal forgoes gimmicks in favour of a closed “simple and elegant appearance.”

The Eisblock GPX Plexi has a unique design, ensuring that the graphics card disappears completely under the cooler for a cleaner look to the system. Integrated RGB ensures the window is put to good use, compatible with ASUS Aurora Sync, Biostar VIVID LED DJ, Gigabyte RGB Fusion or MSI Mystic. Users are, however, urged to pay attention to the connection type on your mainboard as an adaptor might be necessary.

Plexi and Acetal versions of Alphacool’s new Eisblock watercoolers are available for Nvidia’s Geforce GTX TITAN X Pascal and 1080 Ti cards, as well as AMD’s RX Vega range. The Eisblock GPX Acetal comes in slightly cheaper starting from €119.95 on the manufacturer's store, while the RGB-powered GPX Plexi bumps the price up to €149.95.

KitGuru Says: We will be putting two of the Plexi watercoolers to the test in the coming weeks, housed in a Corsair Obsidian 1000D, so keep your eyes peeled to see if Alphacool has achieved the perfect balance of form and function. Do you like the look of Alphacool’s new Eisblocks?
