Computex 2018: Lian-Li is going big on RGB with new cases and cable accessories

We're finally in the home stretch of Computex coverage. One of our last stops this year was Lian-Li, with a couple of good cases on show. The big takeaway from Lian-Li this year is that the company is finally moving into the RGB space, with its own case lighting and cable accessories.

The first case we spotted was the Lancool One Digital. The digital part refers to its ‘addressable RGB' lighting, which essentially means the case lighting can hook up to your motherboard and be controlled that way. The front panel is one of the nicest I have seen on a case in some time, with a cut out to see the RGB front fans peeking through. It's a good size over all, with plenty of space for standard cooling options. For I/O, you get the usual USB 2.0/3.0 ports in addition to USB Type-C. The side panel is tempered glass, which looks sleek as always. The best part though might be the price, with this case set to retail for $99. There will be a cheaper version of this case coming to market for $89, with the main differences being the lack of ‘ARGB' and no Type-C port.

Next on the list is the O11 Air, which looks very similar to the Corsair Carbide case. The standard version of this case is launching in 2018, with a mesh front panel and lots of space for fans. Cooling is the main focus here, as the name suggests. This one is expected to sell for $129.

The O11 RGB on the other swaps the mesh front panel for tempered glass and adds RGB lighting. There is an RGB strip down the side of the glass front panel that shines through and shows the light from both edges. As Leo shows in the video above, everything on the case is easily removable too. The case comes with two standard black/white PWM fans, plus three additional RGB fans included in the box. The RGB fans don't come pre-installed, allowing buyers to choose where they want to put them. The O11 RGB will be slightly more expensive than the Air equivalent, coming in at £149.

Finally, Lian-Li has one more product to show off its investment into the RGB world. It's known as the Strimer RGB cable accessory, and is developed in house by a team of six engineers dedicated to working on lighting. It is essentially a cover for individually sleeved cables, shining RGB up and down to make it appear as if your cables have lights in them.
