Last year, following an Insomniac data leak, we learned that the studio had been working on a multiplayer Spider-Man game called ‘The Great Web', in which groups of players could travel through the multiverse to fight a wide range of enemies. This game was ultimately cancelled, but a newly leaked trailer for the game has fans wishing it wasn't.
The short trailer shows four Spidey characters swinging around NYC together, taking on enemies like Venom, Vulture, and Dr. Octavius.
The trailer shows how the multiverse concept would work, with groups of players diving down into dimensional rifts to travel between different universes. This would allow Insomniac to reintroduce enemies old and new alike without messing with the canon of its single-player games.
One thing that has stood out to fans is just how polished the game appears to be in the trailer. We don't know how far into development the game was, but the trailer certainly hints at a polished product, one that could have been ready for a proper unveiling if it had not been cancelled.

KitGuru Says: This trailer is short but it perfectly shows off the ideas behind Insomniac's Spider-Man multiplayer game. With all the positivity The Great Web is getting online now, I do wonder if Sony will reconsider the project's cancellation.
