Cyberpunk 2077 was first teased all the way back at the start of 2013, and five years later we finally have our first look at what the game has in store for us. Last night during the Xbox E3 conference, CD Projekt Red finally unveiled the game, with a new full-length trailer.
The trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t show any gameplay but it showed a lot of in-engine footage. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a vastly advanced world in terms of technology, but the US is struggling. The game focusses on ‘Night City', the worst city in this fictional America, with the highest rates of poverty and violence.
We already know that Cyberpunk 2077 will be an RPG, but we don't know exactly what direction CD Projekt Red is taking things, as the trailer didn't feature gameplay. However, a hidden message within the trailer did confirm that players will create their own characters, which is a departure from The Witcher formula.
One final tidbit from the trailer is that some of the command lines shown were actually CD keys for The Witcher 3. So not only did we finally get to see more of Cyberpunk 2077, but there was a stealth Witcher giveaway hidden in the trailer.
CD Projekt Red has told us to keep an eye out, as Cyberpunk 2077 will be spoken about a bit more over the next few days.
KitGuru Says: Whatever the game turns out to be, people are excited to see what CDPR can give us after the smash hit The Witcher 3. What do you think about Cyberpunk 2077?
