Multiplayer is finally making its way to No Man’s Sky in its Next update

It’s safe to say that when No Man’s Sky launched, it brought a lot of controversy with it. From a false multiplayer mode to an overhyped and underwhelming end, Hello Games has had its work cut out in making the game what it should have been at launch. As of next week, Sean Murray and his team hope to finally fulfil promises by introducing multiplayer in its “Next” update.

Yesterday a trailer was released that detailed some of the new features that will be added to No Man’s Sky on the 24th of July. Sean Murray highlighted some of the new additions in an email to Polygon.

He first mentions that finally, No Man’s Sky will be getting multiplayer that allows you to team up with a small group of friends or random players to explore the game together. You can also build small shelters or complex colonies cooperatively, as the base building has now been improved. You can now build anywhere on a planet, and there are hundreds of new base parts to choose from.

Hello Games, have also revamped the visuals, now allowing for the game to be played in both third and first person. They have also touched up the graphics in general, with things like better ground, water, and cloud textures.

The Next update will roll out for No Man’s Sky players on the 24th of July for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and will be completely free for owners of the base game.

KitGuru Says: Despite the dodgy advertising campaign, I would love for No Man’s Sky to fulfil its potential. Will you be trying No Man’s Sky Next on the 24th?
