Monster Hunter World PC release date and system requirements announced

Update:  Just as promised, Capcom has officially announced the PC release date and system requirements for Monster Hunter World. The game will be launching on Steam on the 9th of August.

The minimum specifications target 1080p, 30 frames per second at low graphics settings:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8460 or AMD FX-6300.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x.
  • HDD: 20GB storage.

The recommended specifications call for 1080p, 30 frames per second at high graphics settings:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-8350 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X.
  • RAM: 8GB.
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 570X.
  • HDD: 20GB storage.

The game will support gamepads in addition to mouse/keyboard setups. Those who pre-order the game will get an exclusive Origin Armor set and Fair Wind charm.

Original Story: Monster Hunter World is already considered to be an early year hit for Capcom, but its important to remember that the game has only launched on two platforms so far. The console versions have done well, but many have been holding out for the PC version, and we'll finally know when we'll be able to get our hands on it later today.

In a tweet late last week, Capcom confirmed plans to reveal the PC version's release date and minimum requirements at 5PM in the UK. We'll also find out which ‘distribution platform' the game will land on, which is odd, because many of us would assume Steam right out of the gate.

Monster Hunter World on consoles looked good, but the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro weren't capable of hitting a solid 60 frames per second. With the PC version, smoother frame rates will hopefully be much easier to come by.

We'll be back at 5PM to update this post with the release date and minimum specs.

KitGuru Says: I really enjoyed what I played of Monster Hunter World, but I've mainly been saving myself for the PC version. Hopefully it lives up to expectations and runs well. Are any of you looking forward to Monster Hunter finally landing on PC?
