The Nintendo Switch has sold 19.67 million units between launch and June 2018

After the disappointment of the Wii U from Nintendo, the Switch has taken the world by storm. It offers both a fantastic living room and portable gaming experience at a very affordable price. The sales back this up in Nintendo’s latest financial report, as the company has already sold close to 20 million Switch consoles.

Nintendo revealed in its latest financial report that the Switch has managed to sell a total of 19.67 million units as of June 2018. This is well ahead of Nintendo's forecast of 20 million Switch shipments by March 2019.

Naturally since the Switch console is doing so well, so are the games available. In total, around 87 million Switch games have been sold since the console's launch last year. The highest selling game is Super Mario Odyssey, which has shipped over 11 million units. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is in second place, with 10.35 million sales.

Finally, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is in third place, with 9.32 million copies sold. The accessibility of the eShop is helping out quite a bit here, as it has allowed profit to rise ahead of revenue at a faster pace than expected.

KitGuru Says: It’s clear Nintendo are onto a winner with the Switch, these sales figures are mightily impressive. What do you make of the Switch’s performance?
