HDR coming to Sky Q next year, Voice Control trial coming soon

Sky Q is pretty much the best (and most expensive) TV experience in the UK. With already a vast choice of 4K content to choose from, Sky is the leader when it comes to 4K TV content availability. Sky is looking to improve further by adding HDR support next year, in addition to a completely hands-free voice control feature that is coming soon.

HDR will be coming at some point for Sky Q boxes in 2019 reports TechRadar. It was also revealed that a completely hands-free voice control feature will be trialled in the near future. Not many details were given about the voice control capabilities, but the suggestion of it being “fully hands-free” suggests being able to navigate the whole system without a remote.

Sky is also adding some smaller features such as individual profiles for different users, and a Kids Mode that will ensure children don’t stumble upon anything they shouldn’t. There is still no support for Netflix though, and there was no mention of it by Sky either.

KitGuru Says: It’s a shame with the new Premier League season looming that Sky couldn’t integrate HDR. Are you happy with your Sky Q box?
