Asus unveils pricing for seven AMD B450 motherboards

Yesterday, AMD officially launched the B450 chipset for Ryzen. This isn't the most exciting launch in the world, as B450 shares a lot in common with both B350 and X470. However, it does provide a new option for those looking to build a low cost Ryzen PC. Now, partners are starting to unveil their B450 motherboard line-ups, with seven new boards coming from Asus.

We went into depth on B450 and talked a bit about some of the new motherboard options in our preview yesterday, which you can find HERE. While those opting for a higher-end Ryzen 7 processor will likely stick to X470, if you are looking to save some cash on a Ryzen 3 or Ryzen 5 system, then B450 is positioned well for you.

Asus has seven B450 motherboards to kick things off with. Below, you'll find a list of each motherboard along with its suggested retail price here in the UK:

  • ROG Strix B450-I Gaming – £159.99.
  • ROG Strix B450-F Gaming – £119.99.
  • TUF B450-PLUS Gaming – £97.99.
  • TUF B450M-PLUS Gaming – £87.99.
  • PRIME B450-PLUS – £92.99.
  • PRIME B450M-A – £74.99.
  • PRIME B450M-K – £69.99.

The B450 chipset will get you access to many of the features found in X470, including overclocking. However, it does limit you to 1×16 PCIe slot, with no option of 2×8, which means you'll need to rule SLI or CrossFire out of the equation.

KitGuru Says: Considering you can pick up a B350 motherboard and a Ryzen 5 processor for less than the cost of a Core i7, I imagine this chipset will end up becoming quite popular. Are any of you planning to build a new PC soon? Are you leaning towards going with Intel or AMD?
