Resident Evil 4 Remake celebrates 7 million copies sold

One of the biggest games of 2023 was the long-awaited remake for Resident Evil 4. Released in March, the title is nearing its 1 year anniversary. Ahead of this, Capcom have revealed that RE4 Remake has already sold 7 million copies.

Making the announcement via a press release, publisher Capcom revealed that “the multiplatform title Resident Evil 4 has sold over 7 million units worldwide approximately one year after its release” – helping to push total franchise sales beyond 154 million.

Since its release, RE4 Remake has seen quite a bit of support from Capcom, with the game getting the Separate Ways DLC, a PSVR2 update, Mercenaries mode and even an iOS mobile port.

All-in-all, it’s safe to say that Resident Evil 4 Remake has been a success in all avenues – both critically and commercially. It’ll be interesting to see which entry the team chooses to reimagine next.
