Call of Duty’s Blackout battle royale beta now has a date

The Call of Duty Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta may have concluded, but those of you who downloaded it will want to hang on to the files for a bit longer. The Black Ops 4 beta is taking place in two phases, one for regular multiplayer and another for the brand new Blackout mode. Now we have a launch date for Call of Duty's Battle Royale beta.

We've known for a while that the Blackout mode beta will be happening in September, but now we have some proper dates. Due to Activision's deal with Sony, PS4 owners will get first access, with the beta arriving on the 10th of September. Assuming this beta follows the same timeline as the previous multiplayer beta, we can expect PC and Xbox One access around a week later, starting on the 17th of September. This has not been confirmed yet, so it could take place a bit sooner, or a bit later. If any dates change, we'll be sure to update.

If you delete the multiplayer beta client, then you will need to redownload all of the files when the Blackout beta comes around. If you'd like to reduce wait times, you can hold off on uninstalling and just download the beta update, which will roll out closer to the time.

Here are the system requirements for Call of Duty Black Ops 4:

Minimum system requirements:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k or AMD equivalent
RAM: 8GB RAM
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2 GB / GTX 1050 2GB or AMD Radeon HD 7850

Recommended system requirements:
OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k or AMD equivalent
RAM: 12GB RAM
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 / GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be the first multiplayer-only Call of Duty mainline release. The game launches on the 12th of October.

KitGuru Says: I skipped the regular multiplayer beta this time around, but I am quite interested in checking out Blackout. Will any of you be checking out the Blackout beta? I don't see it convincing me to buy the full game at launch, but it seems interesting enough to try for a weekend.
