Leaked images of MSI RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti appear online

At this point, it is well known that Nvidia's next-gen GPU launch is just around the corner, with the most recent leaks pointing towards a switch away from ‘GTX' branding for the high-end. We are expecting to see reference versions of the RTX 2080 on Monday, but it looks like the RTX 2080Ti might not be too far behind.

This morning, Videocardz leaked the first images of a partner-designed RTX 2080 and an RTX 2080Ti, both sporting MSI's Gaming X Trio cooler.  You can see the images in the gallery below, credit to Videocardz.

There is only so much information we can gleam from the box. For the RTX 2080, we'll be looking at 8GB of GDDR6 memory, while on the RTX 2080Ti, we'll be seeing 11GB of GDDR6. We can also see that Nvidia has switched out the SLI connector in favour of something that looks a lot like an NVLink connection, which is often reserved for Quadro cards.

Historically, Nvidia has launched its xx80 and xx70 GPUs at the same time. We don't know if that will be changing this year, but the timing of this leak certainly suggests that the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti may launch closer together than we would have expected.

KitGuru Says: There is a lot of buzz around Nvidia right now, especially after the launch of the Turing architecture earlier this week. Are any of you looking forward to the GeForce announcements on Monday? Will you be planning to upgrade?
