Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 unveiling is just a few hours away, so it’s just about time for a convenient leak showing off Apple’s brand new iPhone range due out later this year. This hands-on with the 2018 iPhone line-up gives a closer look at the infamous return of the notch and the variety of rear lenses across the three devices.
Before most smartphones are released, case manufacturers are sent dummy models in order to get a range of accessories ready in time for its launch. YouTuber Brownlee manages to get his hands on these dummy versions, confirming that the notch will be the same size on all three models despite the difference in screen size between each variant.
The premium iPhone X Plus will also sport a smaller body than that of the iPhone 8 Plus despite housing a 6.5-inch OLED screen compared to its predecessor’s 5.5-inch display. This is helped in part due to its much slimmer bezels than the seemingly confirmed 6.1-inch LCD iPhone 9.
As expected, the LCD model sticks with a single rear camera, while the smaller 5.8-inch OLED iPhone X2 runs a dual camera. Being the most premium option, this leak corroborates rumours of Apple’s entry into a three-lens rear camera with the iPhone X Plus. The housing of each rear camera is quite large, with Brownlee noting just how much they each protrude from the rear chassis.
The two iPhone X-branded models are said to come in three different colour variants, comprised of black, white and gold options, while the tentatively titled iPhone 9 is said to launch with a choice of four more colour choices that are yet to be revealed.
KitGuru Says: For someone who isn’t particularly an iPhone fan, I have to admit that the devices are looking quite sleek. If anything, I’d be interested in the largest, most premium version even if my wallet would most likely suffer as a result. Do any of the leaked iPhones catch your eye?
