Ubisoft detail’s free DLC and season pass plans for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Odyssey launches in just a few weeks and while the base game will be sizeable, Ubisoft has plenty of post-release content planned for the next year. Last night, Ubisoft detailed its DLC plans for Odyssey, which will include free content in addition to season pass add-ons.

Similarly to Origins, Odyssey players will get new content for free in the form of in-game events. This will include ‘The Lost Tales of Greece', a quest line with episodic releases every month to keep players coming back for more story. There will also be daily/weekly ‘contract' assassinations, a new game plus mode and a ‘discovery tour mode', allowing players to explore the world and see the sights without worrying about combat.

As usual, there will also be a meaty season pass to go along with the base game, which will contain more substantial content drops. This includes two larger story expansions. The first is called ‘Legacy of the First Blade', which comes out in December and will focus on the first hero to wield the Assassin's ‘hidden blade', setting the course for all of the other games in the Assassin's Creed series.

Story expansion two is called ‘The Fate of Atlantis' and is scheduled for Spring 2019. This will have players confronting ‘godly creatures' in an effort to uncover the secrets of the famed sunken city. Odyssey focusses heavily on Greek mythology, so if you are a fan of that, then Atlantis should end up being a cool addition.

Finally, as part of the season pass, Ubisoft is remastering Assassin's Creed 3. The game will have a new graphics engine, contain all of its previous DLC and have new textures, higher resolution support, HDR and gameplay mechanic improvements. The remaster will also be available outside of the season pass when it arrives in March 2019.

KitGuru Says: Given that Ubisoft wants Odyssey to last until 2020, I imagine we'll see some more content announcements after Spring next year. Still, this is a fairly good start. Are any of you planning to pick up Assassin's Creed Odyssey?
