Rockstar details Red Dead Online launch plans

We've heard quite a bit about Red Dead Redemption 2's single-player mode but so far, Rockstar has been quiet on the Red Dead Online front. That changed last night when the studio outlined its launch plans, with Red Dead Online set to release shortly after the main game.

Back in 2013 when Rockstar first launched Grand Theft Auto V, the studio held off on the launch of GTA Online, making it live a month later. The same release schedule will remain for Red Dead Redemption 2, with the main game arriving in October and the public beta for Red Dead Online launching in November.

We don't have a trailer for Red Dead Online just yet but Rockstar has said that it will build upon the ideas introduced in Red Dead Redemption's original multiplayer modes. Red Dead Online will combine narrative elements with competitive and co-op gameplay. Players will have access to the entire game world while in Red Dead Online.

Much like GTA Online, Rockstar will be consistently releasing updates for Red Dead Online over the next few years to keep players coming back.

KitGuru Says: Red Dead Redemption 2 is almost here. Are any of you planning on picking it up next month?
