Dr DisRespect forced to end Twitch stream after shots were fired at his house

Guy Beahm plays the popular Twitch personality Dr DisRespect, a character streamer with over 2.7 million followers on the platform. Sadly, Beahm had to abruptly break character during his regular stream yesterday, after assailant shot at his house for the second time in two days.

Amidst his livestream of the newly launched Black Ops 4 Blackout beta this September 11, Beahm’s attention was caught by three distinctly loud noises off camera. Upon returning, Beahm has ditched his signature wig and sunglasses to deliver a distraught message that the noises were in fact gunshots, and that it wasn’t the first time.

“I've got to end the broadcast right now, someone shot at our house,” and understandably irate Beahm says, returning to explain to his viewers. “Broke the upstairs window. This is the second shot, someone shot yesterday, at our house and someone shot again right now, connected with the house, upstairs.”

Details are incredibly thin at this time, however The San Diego Tribune claims that a BB gun was likely the cause of the destruction rather than a standard, more lethal weapon. Investigators were cited as the source, however this remains unconfirmed at this time. While it is likely the reason Beahm can return to streaming so promptly without fear of threat, it doesn’t account for the sounds loud enough to be heard on-stream.

Beahm stated that the perpetrator had driven by in the first instance, pointing towards more than one culprit. It remains unverified whether or not it was the same shooter in both instances, however likelihood suggests that it might be, if not two in connection with one another.

Taking to Twitter, Beahm expressed his appreciation for all of the well wishes, confirming that both him and his family are safe. “The situation is being handled appropriately” by the authorities, which is likely what Beahm means when he stated that “proper measures” were being taken in order to continue his stream schedule just one day after the incident.

KitGuru Says: While it’s reassuring to know that all those affected are unharmed, I can’t imagine what it’s like not to feel safe in the space of your own home. Here’s hoping the assailant(s) is caught sooner rather than later.
