Back in May, PC Specialist launched the Recoil II gaming laptop, complete with a 15.6-inch high refresh rate display, an Intel 8th Gen CPU and Nvidia GTX 10-series graphics. It has been a few months since then and now, PC Specialist is bringing out a bigger version for those who would prefer a larger display.
The 15.6-inch Recoil II scored very highly in our review, with Dominic awarding it our Must Have award. Now, there is a 17.3-inch version available, packing a 144Hz display, a mechanical keyboard with per-key RGB, Intel 8th Gen processors and Nvidia GTX 10 graphics once again. All of this is packaged in a slim bezel design with a 19mm thick chassis, making it very portable.
In terms of configuration options, you'll get an Intel Core i7-8750H and a 1080p/144Hz display as standard. From there, you can pick between a GTX 1050Ti or a GTX 1060 GPU, up to 32GB of 2666MHz RAM and opt to have one 2.5″ drive in addition to two M.2 drives.
In terms of connectivity, you'll get a microphone and headphone jack, a HDMI port, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, two Mini DisplayPort 1.3 connections and a memory card reader.
The Recoil II 17.3-inch starts at £1,061 in the UK for the base options. The price will rise depending on your configuration options.
KitGuru Says: The Recoil II is still one of the nicest looking laptops on the market in my opinion. The clean, slim design and lack of branding really work in its favour.
