Spider-Man has become the fastest selling PlayStation game ever

Sony is continuing to have a blockbuster year with PS4 exclusives. Back in April, we learned that God of War had become the fastest selling PS4 exclusive ever, shipping 3.1 million copies in just three days. Now, that title has been passed on to Spider-Man, which accrued 3.3 million sales during its first weekend.

Insomniac's Spider-Man was a recipe for success. Sony picked what appeared to be the perfect studio to helm the project and it has paid off handsomely, with the game garnering positive reviews across the board. Not only that, but the game is selling incredibly well, beating out God of War's first weekend sales, in addition to every other first-party PlayStation game up to this point.

Here in the UK, Spider-Man still remains at the top spot for video game sales at retail, showing no signs of slowing down just yet.

KitGuru Says: I picked up Spider-Man on day one and played it pretty much non-stop for several days. Its one of the few games where I actually went out of my way to do the usual open-world side-stuff too, simply because web-swinging and combat was so much fun. Have any of you played Spider-Man on PS4? If you own the console, I would highly recommend it.
