Nvidia RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti Unboxing!

After the announcement of the new RTX 20 series in Germany last month, the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti cards have arrived at KitGuru's labs. While we can't show any performance figures today, we do have complete unboxings of both cards, as well as an overview of the new Founders Edition card design.

These are the top dogs of the new consumer Turing-based line up of graphics cards. RTX 2070 was also announced at the event in Germany but that is not slated for release until later on.

In terms of design, both use the same style of cooler, and it has changed quite a bit since the Founders Edition cards we saw from the GTX 10 series. Gone is the blower-style cooler, and now we have 13-blade dual axial fans on each card. These are used to dissipate heat away from the full-length vapour chambers and finstacks found on each card.

The styling is undeniably premium, too – as we'd hope considering the price. Both cards are made with plenty of aluminium – both silver and black – and the subtle curves look lovely. It's overall less angular than something like the GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition and I have to say, I definitely prefer the new style.

Lastly, the only real difference between the two cards in terms of design (excluding the different names printed on the front and back) is that the RTX 2080 requires 1x 6-pin and 1x 8-pin power connectors, whereas the RTX 2080 Ti requires 2x 8-pin connectors.
