Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Gameplay Part 2

Last week, I posted an hour and a half of gameplay from Assassin's Creed Odyssey, complete with first impressions and a dive into the new RPG elements that Ubisoft has added to the series. Due to how vast this game is, and how many hours it would take to complete, I've decided to put together a much longer gameplay video, showing off a whole lot more!

(If you missed out on the first part, you can watch it here🙂

Words cannot express how much I love playing RPG's and being spoilt with multiple choice dialogue options. Many of my most favourite games include this element. A perfect example of this would be the Mass effect series.

So when it was announced that Assassin's Creed: Odyssey would involve the multiple choice, good/bad options throughout the progression of the game I was over the moon! I like being faced with a potentially difficult choice that could result in a beneficial result or even one that holds consequences. I myself, always try and go for the good choices but sometimes you can't always be ‘perfect'

The game has a HUGE open world and you can visit islands across the ocean on a boat! I unfortunately haven't managed to see myself yet, whether it's possible to have a ship and blast away other ships with a cannon… or at least something along those lines.. (one can only hope)  But seriously, this game is absolutely massive. It took me the best part of about 3 hours to explore and complete the missions from the island at a reasonable pace. This tells me that the game requires A LOT of hours to be put into it before you would be anywhere near completion.  This doesn't include what's to come with future DLC either.  Exciting stuff!

During my time playing, I had a sudden realization of how terrible I am at the combat within this game. This is made apparent as I'm trying to 1v1 the baddies throughout the game. I've been finding it tricky to get a feel for movements and attacks with the new combat system so far, but this could be down to inexperience.

I've also had difficulty with the keyboard controls. I am used to ‘shift' allowing me to run but instead, Assassin's Creed binds shift to climbing, leading to more than a few rage-inducing moments watching Kassandra leap up rock faces. Assassin's Creed Odyssey does have some odd keybind choices for a PC game, which can be difficult to get used to as most other PC games require ‘shift' to run.

I hope you guys find yourself immersed within the games story, beautiful surroundings and the awesome dialogue choices. Choose well, and have great adventures!
