A whole host of flagship smartphones are launching this month, with Google’s Pixel 3 line-up arriving on the 9th and Huawei shortly following on the 16th. Price to performance king OnePlus has announced that it will also be joining the fray, unveiling its OnePlus 6T on the 30th.
Aesthetically, the OnePlus 6T is expected to follow in the footsteps of Oppo’s F9 and R17 handsets, sporting a teardrop notch for its single front-facing camera. Leaks suggest that this will be capable of utilising OnePlus’ facial recognition technology, dubbed Face Unlock, while the fingerprint sensor has been relocated to beneath the screen for its Screen Unlock feature.

The smaller notch also allows for a bigger 91.6 percent screen-to-body ratio across what is believed to be a 6.4-inch 2340×1080 AMOLED screen, powered by a Snapdragon 845 and Adreno 630. Controversially, the OnePlus 6T will be the first of the company’s devices to forgo a 3.5mm headphone jack, much to the disapproval of fans.
Users should be able to “Unlock the Speed” on October 30th at 11am Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), where the Chinese company will unveil the device in New York City.
KitGuru Says: OnePlus has been the leader of price to performance for quite some time, but it remains to be seen whether the OnePlus 6T can maintain a competitive price point. Is there anything you would like to see revealed about the OnePlus 6T? How much would you be willing to pay for up-to-date flagship features?
