Just Cause 4 has gone gold and PC system requirements have been revealed

Just Cause 4 is heading our way in December, featuring an ambitious new engine with new environments and extreme weather effects. The game doesn't arrive until the 4th of December but the developers appear to have wrapped up work on the base game, as it has officially gone gold. Beyond that, Avalanche has also revealed the PC version's system requirements.

Going gold means that development on a base game has wrapped up and physical discs are ready to be made. Nowadays though, that doesn't mean that there won't be a day-one patch, with some last minute fixes and changes. The game isn't due out until the 4th of December, so the studio has plenty of time to continue squashing any bugs they may have missed.

The PC version of the game comes with three sets of system requirements: minimum, recommended and 4K. Judging by the recommended specs, this game is going to be quite demanding at higher graphics settings and resolutions.

Minimum specs:

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1 with Platform Update for Windows 7 (64-bit version only)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-6300 or better
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760/ AMD R9 270

Recommended specs:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit version only)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4770/AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or equivalent
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070/AMD Vega 56

4K specs:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit version only)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-7700/AMD Ryzen 5 1600X or better
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti

The game itself will take up 59GB of space and will be based on the DirectX 11.1 API rather than DirectX 12, although DX12 may end up being an option when the game launches.

KitGuru Says: I had a blast with Just Cause 3 so I'm looking forward to causing some mayhem in the next one. All of the new environments and weather effects look awesome too, so that should help freshen things up a bit.  Are any of you looking forward to Just Cause 4 next month?
