Netflix has been quite open about its progress on The Witcher TV series over the course of this year. At this point, scripts have been written, shooting locations have been scouted and we know that Henry Cavill will take on the lead role of Geralt. Now, additional cast members have been announced, including the actresses for Ciri and Yennefer.
In an update on Twitter, last night, one of Netflix's official Twitter accounts announced that Freya Allan will be taking on the role of Ciri in the series. Then, after a bit of prompting, we also got updates on Yennefer, Queen Calanthe, Fringilla and more. You can see headshots of all the cast members so far below:
Okay, you got us: The enigmatic sorceress Yennefer will be played by Anya Chalotra. Then there's Ciri. From the court at Cintra: Queen Calanthe is Jodhi May. Fledgling sorceress Fringilla is played by Mimi Ndiweni. pic.twitter.com/0njcnyKTk2

Some of the cast members weren't specifically named, but we know that Anya Chalotra will be playing Yennefer, Jodhi May will play Queen Calanthe and Fringilla will be played by Mimi Ndiweni.
At this point, the ball really seems to be rolling, a few more important roles still need to be cast. However, progress is being made relatively swiftly, so hopefully everything remains on track for the show's 2019 release date.
KitGuru Says: Aside from Henry Cavill, I don't really know anything about these other cast members. However, you don't necessarily need star power to succeed in making something great. Pre-production is gathering pace, hopefully we'll continue to get updates over the next few months.
