Blizzard announces beta plans for World of Warcraft: The War Within

As is the case with each major expansion, Blizzard will be holding a closed beta test for World of Warcraft: The War Within, an ambitious new expansion for the game that will kick off a new story arc. If you are looking to jump in early, Blizzard is now inviting players to sign up for the beta test.

Public Test worlds have been available in World of Warcraft for some time, and signups for The War Within expansion are now officially open. Those interested can register for the upcoming beta HERE. Of course, signing up does not guarantee access to the new content on the Public Test Realm, but it is as simple as clicking a few buttons and hoping for the best once it is released.

If your account is chosen, a new PTR will be available on the World of Warcraft version drop-down menu, just as with prior signups. Then, you'll just need to download it and log in. For those who want to guarantee access to the PTR, you must get The War Within Epic Edition, which costs £74.99/$89.99/€89.99. This version of the game includes instant entry to the Beta test and Early entry to the game. Though this is a steep price to pay, it looks to be the only option for those who want the earliest possible access.

Besides The War Within, Blizzard has promised two more expansions after this one. The Worldsoul Saga will be completed across three expansions: The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan. Unfortunately, we still don't have any firm release dates for them. However, we know the first one (War Within) is expected to come out this year.
