Prior to Microsoft's push to bring more exclusive games to PC, there was talk of Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive coming to Windows. Around the game's release in late 2014, there were marketing assets showing the game as being available on Xbox and PC. Unfortunately, a PC version never did end up seeing the light of day, but that could be changing this year.
Back in May, it was discovered that a PC version of Sunset Overdrive was submitted to the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee. The game was clearly listed as ‘Sunset Overdrive PC' and the submission passed through swiftly. Since then, Insomniac and Microsoft tried to downplay talk of Sunset Overdrive on PC but more evidence is coming to light, as now the ESRB has listed a PC version of the game too.
The ESRB is responsible for rating games, in this instance, the game has been rated M/Mature due to blood, gore, drug references, sexual references, strong language and violence.
Microsoft has an event coming up later this month, during which we are expecting to see a few announcements. We already know that Microsoft plans to bring Xbox Game Pass to PC natively, so this could end up being one of the first games to appear. Still no word on the Halo Master Chief Collection though…
KitGuru Says: I really enjoyed the short amount of time I spent playing Sunset Overdrive, but for me, a PC is always going to be the best place to play games. If this does come to PC, then I'd certainly like to revisit it. Did many of you play Sunset Overdrive when it came out? Would you play it if it came to PC?
