PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is finally coming to PlayStation 4

Rumours of PUBG’s arrival on PlayStation 4 have been rampant since the battle royale title landed on Xbox One last year, with hopes building once again in August. Fortunately, the wait is almost over as Sony has announced a variety of pre-orders ahead of PUBG’s launch on December 7th.

Both the Disc Edition and the Looter’s Digital Edition will set users back $29.99 USD for the base game, with the former being PUBG’s only physical copy on PS4. The Survivor’s Digital Edition costs $59.99 and will net players the game, 2,300 premium G-Coin, 20,000 Battle Points (BP) and a “Survival Pass” for PUBG’s next snow-based map Vikendi. Enthusiasts can opt for the $89.99 Champion’s Digital Edition that endows players an extra 3,700 G-Coin, totalling 6,000 overall.

To celebrate the launch, all pre-orders will give players access to Sony’s exclusive Nathan Drake Desert Outfit inspired by the Uncharted series and Ellie’s Backpack from The Last of Us. The PUBG mascot is also included as an PSN avatar and users can sport a Miramar-themed menu.

Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok are all included with the base game, as are custom matches, ranked system, event mode and full Trophy support. Sony will be mirroring the Achievements found on the Xbox One and Steam, meaning it’s easy to know what’s needed for that elusive Platinum Trophy.

“We’re excited to expand our PUBG service and introduce new communities to our Battle Royale game. PlayStation has developed an amazing community of passionate gamers and we can’t wait to join them this holiday season,” says Changhan Kim, CEO of PUBG Corp. “We are proud of the game we have created and can’t wait to get it into your hands,” concludes PS4 Lead Project Manager Koo Sung Jeong.

KitGuru Says: It’s been a long time in the making and hopefully a more stable launch than the Xbox One experienced, however will it still be relevant given Fortnite has been on the scene for quite some time? Are you looking forward to PUBG’s launch on PS4?
