Borderlands 2 VR could launch on PC in 2019

The Borderlands series has been on a bit of a hiatus over the last few years. We've known for quite some time that Borderlands 3 is in the works but so far, there has been very little noise on that front. However, Borderlands 2 is making a comeback this year, with a new VR version set to release in December. At first, Borderlands 2 VR will be exclusive to PlayStation VR users but that should change next year.

As part of Sony's YouTube trailer for Borderlands 2 VR, a small piece of text is shown stating that “Borderlands 2 VR is exclusive to PS VR for a minimum of 5 months from launch”. So between the 14th of December and the 14th of May 2019, PlayStation will be the only place to try it out.

It is unlikely that we'll see the PC version land immediately after the 14th of May but it does make a summer launch very possible. A PC version will be a little more complicated to get up and running though, as support will need to be ensured for multiple headsets with different tracking and control offerings, including the Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

KitGuru Says: Thanks to the game's art style, I could see Borderlands 2 holding up very well in VR. It is nice to see more major publishers backing virtual reality with huge titles like this. How many of you currently own a VR headset? Are there any other big games you would like to see make the jump?
