Intel’s latest Arc graphics driver improves performance in select DX11 games by up to 48%

Intel has been working on improving its Arc graphics drivers since the launch of its A-series desktop GPUs. We've seen some very impressive performance gains for DX9 and DX11 titles over the past year. With the latest driver release, Intel continues that trend, with performance gains of up to 48 percent.

The new graphics driver (31.0.101.5444 Beta) aims to enhance performance across Arc A-series desktop and mobile GPUs and Arc iGPUs. This driver update offers a significant boost in performance, ranging from 5% to 48%, depending on the game and its settings.

Users playing games like Days Gone (Very High settings), Unturned (Ultra settings), and VRChat (High settings) on a system powered by an Arc series desktop or mobile GPU will see up to 5% performance with the latest driver. Other games like Dyson Sphere Programme (Default settings), Fortnite (Performance Mode), Lethal Company (Default settings), and Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Ultra settings) get a more noticeable boost of up to 15%. According to Intel, the most significant performance bump on a dedicated Arc A-series graphics card will be on Need for Speed: Heat (Ultra settings), which had an up to 36% FPS uplift.

The Arc-based iGPUs of the Core Ultra mobile CPUs will also improve performance on DX11 games. American Truck Simulator (Medium) will be the less noticeable performance improvement, bumping the FPS by up to 10%. On the other hand, Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Medium settings) is the biggest winner on the iGPU side, running up to 48% faster.

The driver update also addresses errors in games like No Rest for the Wicked, Assetto Corsa, Halo Infinite with ray tracing, and Diablo 4, among others.
