CES 2019: Edifier launches S90HD 4.1 home theatre speaker system

Edifier has consistently impressed us over the last year and it looks like 2019 is also going to be a good one. At CES today, Edifier made a number of announcements, one of which was the S90HD, a 4.1 home theatre sound system, complete with a sound bar in the centre, two rear speakers and a wireless subwoofer.

The soundbar acts as your front audio, while the two additional speakers are intended to sit behind you. The subwoofer will add the additional ‘oomph' many enthusiasts crave. The S90HD system supports both Dolby and DTS audio, meanwhile the subwoofer connects to the system using Bluetooth 4.1 with Qualcomm aptX technology for minimal latency.

In total, the S90HD system outputs 202 watts, with four mid-range and bass amplifiers and two titanium tweeters in place to ensure a rich sound. As you would expect, all of the necessary inputs are present, so you can make use of AUX, Line in, Bluetooth, Optical or Coaxial based on preference.

We are still awaiting UK pricing and availability information, but hopefully that will come our way soon.

KitGuru Says: I've reviewed a couple of Edifier speakers over the last few months and came away with positive impressions. It will be interesting to see what the company can muster up in the home theatre segment but so far in paper, the S90HDs sound pretty great.
