Phanteks launches the Eclipse P600S chassis

Phanteks showcased its Eclipse P600S chassis at CES 2019, with KitGuru’s Leo noting that the case looked like a hybrid between the firm’s Evolv series and the Enthoo Pro M. Diving deeper into the specs, the titular “S” undoubtedly stands for ‘silent’, as Phanteks doubles down on its new dual layer high-airflow mesh panels.

On the surface, the Eclipse P600S looks almost futuristic with sleek front and top panels that help to dampen sound. Peeling these back, Phanteks pre-installs three 140mm PWM fans behind a new dual layer high-airflow mesh design, with one panel embedded below the front I/O and another deeper into the front of the chassis. The firm states that this “reduces the loss of air-intake caused by using traditional high density mesh.” While this allows users to operate using low-RPM fans, the case will be at its quietest with all panels attached.

Each panel has a triple layer of insulation across the front, sides and top on the standard version. The windowed version presumably sacrifices one side of insulation in favour of aesthetic. All panels are hinged for easier access, allowing users to install up to 10 mechanical hard drives, 3 SSDs, CPU coolers up to 190mm and graphics cards up to 435 mm long with the option to vertically mount. There’s even space for a secondary motherboard at the top of the case thanks to an optional ITX upgrade kit.

Water-cooling enthusiasts can embrace radiators as large as 420mm at the front, 360mm at the top and 140mm at the rear. Those sticking with air cooling can fit up to three 140mm fans at the front, two at the top and one at the rear.

The Phanteks Eclipse P600S is readily available from Overclockers UK, coming in Satin Black, Anthracite Grey and Glacier White. The standard version only comes in Satin Black, costing £127.99, while the windowed variants see a marginal increase of £134.99 each.
