Today at CES, Leo swung by the Gigabyte suite to check out the all-new RTX 2060 range, new liquid cooled GPUs, RTX laptops and the brand new AORUS gaming monitor.
First up, Gigabyte has three new RTX 2060 graphics cards coming up and an extra AORUS version to boot. The RTX 2060 Gaming OC Pro features a triple-fan cooler similar to the AORUS card, which uses ‘alternate spinning' fan blades to increase airflow. The RTX 2060 WINDFORCE on the other hand uses a dual-fan cooler, with two 100mm fans. There are an additional pair of 90mm fans underneath that alternate with the larger ones for better cooling. Finally, Gigabyte is also releasing a Mini-ITX version of the RTX 2060 and as you would expect, it is tiny, with just one single-fan and measures in at just 17cm long.
The Gigabyte AORUS Xtreme RTX 2060 is the flagship version, with the same cooler found on the higher-end RTX AORUS GPUs. It will also have higher out-of-the-box overclock speeds.
Moving on to laptops, Gigabyte is upgrading its range with Nvidia's new RTX graphics cards. The new Aero 15 is perhaps the most exciting of the bunch though, thanks to the inclusion of Microsoft AI, which users can ‘opt-in' to. If you choose to use this feature, Microsoft's AI service will monitor CPU, GPU, fan, keyboard and audio usage data, different ‘optimisations' will then be made based on the task you're PC is currently running.
The display on the new Aero 15 is 1080p/144Hz, although you can go 4K/60Hz if you want to. Beyond that, under the hood you will find a Core i7-8850H processor, an Intel 760P SSD, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and Killer 1150 802.11ac WiFi. The specific RTX GPU inside is currently unknown but we imagine it will either be the 2060 or 2070 Max-Q.
Finally, Gigabyte AORUS is going to be launching its very own gaming monitor this year. It will be a 27-inch 1440p IPS panel with 10-bit colour and a 144Hz refresh rate. It is certified for DisplayHDR 400, which means you'll get a peak brightness of 400 nits. Finally, the monitor also covers 95 percent of the DCI-P3 colour space and supports FreeSync. Currently, we are expecting this monitor to roll out this month with an MSRP of $599.
