Today at CES, Leo and Briony stopped by at the Nvidia suite to check out all of the latest hardware. That includes the new super-sized BFGD gaming displays due in February, the recently launched RTX 2060 and finally, RTX for laptops.
We have already extensively covered all of the big announcements from Nvidia on Monday. As a brief catch up, the RTX 2060 is coming out on the 15th of January, you can find our review of the Founder's Edition, HERE. On that same date, a new driver update will be rolling out which will do two things- for starters, it will add DLSS support to Battlefield V, which is required for getting ray-tracing to run well on the 2060. This driver update will also open the door for Nvidia graphics cards to finally make use of Adaptive Sync on FreeSync monitors, not just proprietary G-Sync models.
Nvidia has also begun rolling out RTX 2080, RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 graphics chips for laptops. Over 40 different laptop models are already planned to be released, with MSI, ASUS and Razer being amongst the first to make the upgrade. As Leo notes in his video, some of these RTX laptops can get quite noisy while playing games but they still deliver on the promise of being thin and light with plenty of performance.
KitGuru Says: We'll have more video coverage from Leo and Briony as the week progresses. Do you agree with Leo's thoughts on RTX?
