AOC is expanding on its gaming monitor offerings this month with the arrival of the CQ32G1- a 31.5″ 1440p monitor complete with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Typically, a 144Hz/1440p gaming monitor would set you back anywhere from £450 to £700. AOC's 31.5-inch CQ32G1 has an MSRP of £359, making it a very compelling upgrade assuming you can find a retailer selling at that price point. Aside from the high refresh rate and QHD resolution, this monitor also supports FreeSync, which now works on both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.
With FreeSync, you should be able to remove screen tear from the equation, resulting in a better overall gaming experience. The panel itself is VA, with a 1ms response time, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 124% sRGB coverage and 1800R curvature.
Other features worth noting are the slim 2mm bezels, with a small 5mm black border, which should make this monitor more friendly for multi-display setups. The monitor stand offers tilt adjustment, and on the back you'll find one DisplayPort 1.2 input followed by two HDMI 1.4 inputs.
KitGuru Says: At £359, this actually seems like a bit of a bargain given the screen size, resolution and refresh rate. Are any of you looking to upgrade to a high refresh rate, 1440p monitor this year?
