There has been quite a bit of Xbox news this week. We recently learned a lot more about Hellblade 2, which lands on Xbox and PC next month, and we've also recently heard rumours that Gears of War 6 is due to be announced this Summer. Now to cap off an eventful week of headlines, it appears we now have a date for the next Xbox Games Showcase.
Alongside its report on long-time Xbox executive, Kareem Choudhry, leaving Microsoft, The Verge has also heard through its sources that Sea of Thieves' upcoming launch on PS5 is going to be a key test for Microsoft. If things go well, we will see more Xbox games heading to PS5 and Switch consoles.
Additionally, sources familiar with Microsoft's plans also claimed that the Xbox Games Showcase will be returning on the 9th of June, one day ahead of Ubisoft's showcase, and around 10 days after Sony's rumoured showcase, which should take place at the end of May.
Aside from Gears 6, we are also expecting to get updates on Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty, Diablo 4 and Microsoft Flight Sim.

KitGuru Says: Sea of Thieves has been showing up regularly on the PS Store's popular games chart, so signs are pointing in the right direction. Sea of Thieves has generated a lot of interest over the years thanks to a string of updates from Rare, so I have little doubt that the game will succeed on PS5, especially amongst those who were left disappointed by Skull and Bones earlier in the year.
